Fourth Friday Labyrinth Walks 2026
This year we commence a new series: Walking the Labyrinth with the Gospel of Matthew, walking with a different story from the Gospel each month.
All are welcome; consider inviting a friend.

Dates:  28 August, 25 September, 23 October, 27 November.

Time: 10:00am
Location: Centennial Park Labyrinth.
Refreshments provided.

Inclement weather:  The walks are cancelled in the event of thunderstorms.
Walks generally proceed in the rain but we have been known to retreat to a café in appalling weather.

What makes a cake angelic?

It’s time to spice up your Friday night and enjoy some culinary history focused on good and evil. Not only will you get to hear the back story of foods associated with angels and devils, you will also be tempted to taste these spiritually-inspired morsels.

Food historian, curator and author of Eat Your History, Dr Jacqui Newling, will be in conversation with social history curator Alison Wishart.

Funds raised will go towards the restoration of the state heritage-listed Pitt Street Uniting Church Organ, which was installed in 1910 by Hill and Son.

Please note, we are unable to accommodate all dietary requirements but there will be a variety of food and hopefully something you can eat!

A few weeks ago we stood outside our church and pointed to our banner - We cry out for Gaza Peace and Justice in Palestine as part of the Palestine Israel Ecumenical Network (PIEN) campaign video of Australian Churches and Clergy advocating for peace and Justice in Palestine.

The video is now live on PIEN’s YouTube page.

We are now being asked to send this video to the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and our Federal Member of Parliament and Senators. Whilst our Church Council will send the video with an accompanying letter it is important for individual church members to also send the video expressing their own specific concerns. PIEN suggests you could mention:

• The congregation you belong to;
• Why you participated;
• What we are calling on the government to do (when addressed to Labor).
  We are particularly urging the government at this crucial point in time to sanction Israel, establish a two-way arms embargo and for the UN to send in Peace Keepers.
