Community

The Pitt Street community is diverse.  People from around the world and locals from all walks of life are warmly welcomed. The church is part of the rhythm of Sydney life, a place of hospitality and community, where people make connections and get involved in whatever ways they choose.

Safe Church

We affirm that all people have the right to be physically, emotionally, spiritually and sexually safe, respected and have their views and opinions valued at all times.

We recognize that we live in a country that legislates for people’s safety and the Church has responsibilities under that legislation.

Being an inclusive church does not mean anything goes.

Pitt Street has a Safe Church policy and a Leaders' Code of Conduct.

Our policy aims to:

  • minimise the risk of abuse, ministry misconduct (whether by ordained or lay leaders) and the misuse of positional power;
  • ensure that all cases of suspected abuse and ministry misconduct are handled thoroughly;
  • ensure that leaders and programs are safe;
  • ensure that all people are respected and valued.
